Samira Elagoz is a Finnish-Egyptian filmmaker and performance artist based in Berlin and Amsterdam. Over several years, he filmed encounters with men and first meetings with male strangers. His work merges theatre, film, and documentary into a form of docu-fiction grounded in real encounters in which he is always present. The films examine intimacy, masculinity, and the politics of looking, from both a personal and external perspective. Elagoz’s works are shown internationally and he received the Silver Lion at La Biennale di Venezia in 2022 for his body of work.
