nasa4nasa is a Cairo-based dance collective co-founded by Noura Seif Hassanein and Salma Abdel Salam in 2016. Their work uses static imagery to question form, aesthetics, and value. Through chance and repetition, they look at failure, affect, vanity, and boredom. They imagine alternative spaces as stages and use social media as a site of interaction and interruption within daily virtual consumption. Their work can be taken lightly or seriously; it is made to hold both positions. They do not search for meaning in every gesture. As they put it, “nasa4nasa fucks with dance.”
